Your fields are empty and the horses may be gone,
but in our hearts Linda, you will always remain.

You were a stoic example of true leadership. A quiet rebel with a cause to educate and teach others about that which you loved most, your horses.

Linda, this is a small tribute to you and your life.

Thank you for touching my life and so many others in such a profound way.

Your eternal brother and friend,
James B. Ryer

Linda Connors owned Gallop On Farm of Syracuse, NY and dedicated her life to her horses and teaching.

I recall having dinner with her and some friends in December of 2007 to celebrate her three year victory over breast cancer.

Then January 2008, less than one month later, tragically, she was re-diagnosed with this dreadful disease. Within 9 months she lost the fight and passed away on September 11, 2008.

Her life is credited with so many achievements and awards for her devotion to the equestrian sport and all those she inspired to greatness.

In 2008 she was awarded the New York State Horse Council Lifetime Achievement award an award given annually to a member of the equine community that has demonstrated a lifetime of support and achievement within the community.

In 2009 the award was subsequently renamed the Linda Connors Lifetime Achievement Award in her loving memory.

Mr. Bob Pfohl was the first recipient of the renamed award.
